Cat response_Test shoot_LCD Monitor

Cats can see almost as well as humans can. Cats vision is designed for detecting motions, useful for hunting. Cats responded to the colors purple, blue, green and yellow range. Red, orange and brown colors appear to fall outside cats color range and are most likely seen as dark to mid shades of gray.

Target Analysis_Cat's pleaser

They have 3 different interaction ways.

The first is the interaction with humans.
They often engage in head rubbing and gentle head bumping to humans. And, sometimes friendly cats are grooming humans hair. Kittens are use to play with humans fingers. This kind of behavior means happy. During that time, they purr loudly.

Second is interaction with toys.
Kittens spend many hours playing games, especially those that simulate hunting and violent competition with other cats.

And, the third is interaction with each other. Cats can befriend with other cats. Here, one cat grooms the other one.

Working process

Attaching the interface to the humans body

Humans : have a letter - use finger
Which body parts represent each parties the most? I think humans have hands and they are used to write a letter or use technology. So, I use hands position for humans.
Cats : body language
I made a toy for cats. It looks like a ball so, it is easy to play with. When cats play with the toy that body language make a laser beam’s position. In this case, the computer translates cats body language into the visual images.
Process : Humans -> Computer -> Cats -> Computer -> Humans

Risd.tv

What is RISD.TV?

PROJECT GUIDELINES

1. RISD.tv hosts an online laboratory for pedagogical experimentation and research into the possibilities of non-linear, networked video production.*

2. The site utilizes Lepton, a set of video collaboration tools developed by the Lepton Group [composed of Dennis Hlynksy, Chuan Khoo and Daniel Peltz], that provide the means to create and visualize non-linear works in which the interconnections of submissions are obvious and emphasized.

3. The visualization and tracking of how ideas are associated across and within cultures of media makers is the focus of our initial explorations.**

4. RISD.tv provides a framework for dialogue through web-based video production. Using video as our language establishes a means for cross-cultural, multinational dialogue that does not depend on common spoken or written languages.

Our most recent Call and Response projects include Call and Response IV [a video dialog between students at the Rhode Island School of Design in the U.S., Hongik University and Ewha Womans University in Korea and the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Valenciennes in France based around themes determined by each of the participant groups] and Blind Calls [between students from Kenya, Finland, Jordan, Argentina, Korea and the U.S. participating in an experimental workshop as part of the Fusion Arts Exchange]. Use the link on the right to access the interface.
